The journey began with a simple hustle: buying, selling, and trading watches online. What started as a way to learn the market quickly became an obsession with understanding how timepieces hold value, reflect personal style, and connect people through a shared appreciation for quality and design.
As the business grew, so did the founder’s knowledge of the watch industry. That passion led to an opportunity to work as a watch assembler at Shinola, where precision, attention to detail, and craftsmanship became daily practice. Working hands-on with watch assembly provided a deeper understanding of what separates a quality timepiece from an ordinary one—knowledge that continues to shape every buying, selling, and authentication decision made by Shabazz Collection today.
But watches were only part of the vision.
Growing up inspired by Detroit’s culture, creativity, resilience, and unmistakable sense of style, the founder developed a deep appreciation for fashion, luxury, and self-expression. Detroit has always been a city that creates its own lane, blending hard work with individuality. That mindset became the foundation of Shabazz Collection.
